Leaks

Water infiltration is the most common problem with roofs and is often time the most frustrating to home owners as it may require repeated repairs.  There are different reasons why a roof may be leaking:
    

• Faulty or improperly installed flashing or even no flashing at all
• Gaps between the shingles or curled up shingles where water can accumulate
  
• Improperly installed shingles
  
• Missing shingles due to strong winds
  
• A negative slope on the roof causing the water to pool up in an area of the roof instead of making its way down to the ground
  
• Clogged gutters causing the water not to drain properly
  
• Damage to the integrity of the roof structure itself
• Problems with the chimney work
  

Signs of water infiltration to look out for:

● Bubbling paint on the ceiling
● Discoloration or dark streaks on the ceilings
● Overflowing or clogged gutters
● Missing roof shingles
● Curled up shingles
● Lifted flashing or drip edge

● Water pooling on the roof
